On our studio walls you can find a colorful collection of hand hooked rugs, big & small ; chair pads, mug mats....On the shelves are beautiful wools, hooking supplies for beginners to advanced hookers and in the middle of the mix, always some frames holding works in progress.
We love to recycle the beautiful wool from shirts, blankets and coats when we can, mixing that with Dorr wools. If a certain color or variations of color are needed we get out the dye pot to make it perfect, using dyes, maybe tea, whatever it takes to achieve the look we want. Our patterns are all unique to us, we have our own Island style and do not copy rugs from other areas, ours are uniquely PEI.
Visitors are very welcome to browse through the studio, try their hand at hooking and enjoy a real Island farmyard. You never know what little feathered head may peek through the plants, you can watch the hens taking a dust bath, maybe collect some fresh eggs....a stroll around the flowers, vegetable patch and wonderful barnyard buildings will give you an idea of the PEI Rural life.
While it is never necessary we, Shirlee, Heather and Bette hope you may find something for your home, something for someone close to your heart .... the rug, the pattern or wool that you have been looking for. A special treasure to remind you of your visit to PEI.
